A hard-hitting suburban saga by writer/director Josh
Evans (Inside The Goldmine, Glam).
Leading a generation of young filmmakers coming of age in digital
Hollywood, Evans and producer Zachary Matz employ an eclectic veteran ensemble that includes Michael
Madsen (Reservoir Dogs), Dick Van
Patten (Eight is Enough), Alexis
Arquette (Pulp Fiction), Michelle
Phillips (Mamas & The Papas),
and Sticky Fingaz (Dead
Presidents) to weave an irreverent, insightful modern odyssey underscored by
drugs, porno, firearms, racism, love, and finally ... redemption.
The soundtrack features original songs by Seal
and rap artist Sticky Fingaz and is
scored by drum and bass star Goldie.

Set in the idyllic suburban distopia of
Orange, THE PRICE OF AIR is the
riveting tale of Paul (Josh Evans, Born on the Fourth of July,
Ricochet), an affable but clueless punk, who agrees to courier for the
corrupt Mr. Ball (Madsen), who’s about to take delivery of a new drug rumored
to be, “More addictive than air.” Against
the gut feelings of his best friend D (Fingaz), Paul does the deal for the quick
cash, but the supplier turns on him and D is murdered in the ensuing shootout.
Paul goes on the lam with the cash and the stash, but only after
promising his dying friend that he’ll flush it before Ball puts them it the
street. Now on the run, Paul meets Anne, a beautiful lonely woman (Charis
Michelsen, Bringing Out The Dead,
Wonder Boys) with whom he indulges in the substance.
They discover its curious effects, each becoming leery of the other even
as they are falling hard. But when
Ball’s eviscerator (Goldie) shows up with
a taste for vengence, Anne unflinchingly saves a debilitated Paul, and they beat
a hasty escape. Fleeing to the
sanctuary of the red desert, the couple spends days and nights in love -- and in
each other find the strength to simply be themselves.
In the explosive finish, they return to confront their demons.
